A Moment of Stillness I Want to Share

Hello Reader,

It’s been a couple of weeks since I reached out. After returning from Mexico, I came home with a cough and some congestion that lingered longer than expected. I felt tired in that deep, whole-body way — the kind of tired that asks you to be still.
So, I listened and rested. No pushing. No performing. Just being.

And as I rested, something interesting happened.

I rarely watch the news or follow weather updates closely. Yet I found myself checking on Hurricane Melissa as it moved toward Jamaica. It surprised me how much I cared — not from fear, but from connection.

I’ve taught in Jamaica before. I remember the joy, warmth, and openness of the people there. And as the storm approached, my heart went to them.

It also reminded me how often I turn to nature for lessons.
Even a storm — something powerful, unpredictable, and overwhelming — carries wisdom if we’re paying attention.

Storms rise.
They peak.
They pass.
And we return.

Funny enough, I’ve lived in Florida for years. Hurricanes are not new to me. But only this year did I begin reflecting on what these storms mirror internally — those times when the mind becomes its own hurricane.

That reflection inspired this week’s blog:

→ When the Mind Becomes a Hurricane

Finding calm, clarity, and your inner wisdom when thoughts feel overwhelming.

A Moment of Heart

Storms often hit hardest in places with fewer resources.
If you feel moved, simply hold Jamaica in your thoughts, your prayers, or your meditation. Love is not small — it ripples.

Retreat Update

I am preparing for my first international retreat in Costa Rica this November, something that has lived inside me for years.

We now have one room left.
No pressure. No push.

Just an invitation if something inside you whispers yes.

Reply if you’d like to talk gently about it.

Reflection for Your Week

When life feels overwhelming, what helps you return to your center?

Breathe.
Listen.
Let the mind settle like water after rain.

Your peace is never gone — only covered for a moment.

Thank you for being here.
For growing.
For choosing presence, even in the storms.

We are in this together.
With love,
Nancy

Hello Reader,

Hello Reader, As the holidays approach, I find myself feeling especially grateful for this community, for your presence here, your curiosity, and your willingness to pause and reflect in a world that so often asks us to rush. This season tends to stir up a mix of emotions. Joy and gratitude, yes — but also nostalgia, reflection, and a quiet awareness of how much has changed over the years. I recently shared a longer reflection on this very idea over on my Substack, where I’ve been writing...

Hello Reader, As we step into these last weeks of 2025 it’s natural to pause, breathe, and look back on how far we’ve come. My newest blog is : “Reflect As You Move Forward.” It’s inspired by my recent retreat—and by the truth that growth doesn’t happen in the extremes. It unfolds in the quiet moments… the small choices… the ways we return to ourselves again and again. In this short blog, you’ll explore:• why reflection matters at this time of year• how slowing down reconnects you with...
