A New Chapter Is Unfolding

REFLECTIONS

When Something Just Feels Right

Hello, My Fellow Sage!

It’s been more than a month since I’ve written.

I didn’t intend to be quiet for so long. Life simply had other plans.

I’m moving.

And honestly, I didn’t see it coming.

Not long ago, Rob and I visited our dear friends Corrine and Rich, never imagining that a simple visit might change the direction of our lives. But almost immediately, something about being there simply felt right.

I’ve only experienced that feeling so strongly once before.

I was looking at colleges, visiting campuses and trying to imagine where I belonged. Then I arrived at Boston University.

I knew.

I couldn't necessarily explain why. It simply felt like the place I was supposed to be.

Decades later, I recognized that same feeling.

And so, here we are—preparing our home for the market, sorting through years of belongings, making decisions, and getting ready for a new chapter.

Change Is Life

We often talk about change as something difficult.

And of course, it can be.

There are changes we choose and changes that choose us. Changes we welcome and others we would give almost anything to avoid.

But change is also simply part of being alive.

And when we have the opportunity to influence the change—to listen to ourselves, make choices and participate in what comes next—I think there can be something incredibly energizing about it.

Maybe that's why this particular change feels less like leaving something behind and more like moving toward something.

I don't know exactly what this next chapter will look like.

But I trust the feeling that started it.

And Something Else Has Been Changing...

While all of this has been unfolding personally, my work has been evolving too.

You may have noticed my new Nancy Waring Wellness logo.

The lotus and Fibonacci spiral were chosen intentionally.

The lotus represents growth, transformation, and the continual unfolding of life. And the Fibonacci spiral reflects the beautiful patterns found throughout nature—a reminder that we, too, are part of nature and its ever-evolving rhythms.

Life is always unfolding. And so are we.

Perhaps that's what this season of my life—and this next evolution of my work—is really about.

Not becoming someone completely different.

But continuing to unfold.

Listening more closely to what feels right. Honoring the wisdom we've gathered along the way. And being willing to change when change is calling us forward.

My work will continue to bring together the practices I believe help us do that—movement, breath, sound, meditation, nourishing ourselves well, meaningful connection, and experiences that remind us what it feels like to be fully present in our own lives.

Something to Reflect On

As you move through your own week, perhaps ask yourself:

Is there something in my life that has been quietly telling me, “This feels right”?

You don't have to do anything with the answer.

Just listen.

Sometimes that is where change begins.

More soon from this unfolding chapter.

Amaury, Myself and Rob at KSC :-) When did he get taller than me? Hello My Fellow Sage! As I write this, my grandson, Amaury, is sleeping. He's 14—almost 15. They grow up ridiculously fast. He leaves tonight at 7:00, and already I can feel a little sadness creeping in. I love having him here. I love our conversations, our time together, and simply knowing he's in the house. Of course I'm going to miss him. But this morning, as I thought about our last day together, I noticed something. I...
