What If It Isn't Summer We Love? Summer is quietly winding down. Even here in South Florida, where warm weather is part of everyday life, summer holds a special kind of energy. Vacations. Family gatherings. Long evenings outside. Time with friends. Somehow life feels a little lighter. Have you noticed that too? Before we turn the page to fall, I invite you to pause for just a moment. What made your heart sing this summer? What moments brought you the greatest sense of peace or joy? What are you most grateful for? As I reflected on my own summer, I realized how much there is to appreciate. Teaching yoga and wellness classes in Mexico and meeting people from around the world. Time with dear friends. Quiet moments that reminded me what really matters. Then last week, I spent several days with my daughter, Sara. Our time together felt different. We were calm. Relaxed. We laughed, talked, and simply enjoyed being together. There wasn't a packed agenda or a long list of things to accomplish. We just allowed ourselves to be present. Flying home, I kept asking myself, What made this visit feel so different from other times throughout the year? The answer surprised me. Expectations. During the summer, we often give ourselves permission to slow down. We don't expect every day to be productive. We don't try to make every gathering perfect. We linger over conversations, enjoy a sunset, take an evening walk, or simply sit outside doing...nothing. We go with the flow. Now compare that with the holidays. Often we're surrounded by many of the same people we enjoy during the summer, yet the experience can feel completely different. Instead of ease, we feel pressure. Instead of presence, we focus on schedules, commitments, shopping lists, and trying to create the "perfect" celebration. It made me wonder... What if it isn't summer that makes us happier? What if it's the way we choose to live during the summer? Nature seems to understand this better than we do. Each season arrives exactly when it's meant to. Summer doesn't resist autumn, and autumn doesn't rush winter. There is a natural rhythm, a willingness to simply be what each season calls for. Perhaps we can learn from that. As I reflected on my own summer, I realized it wasn't just the trips or special occasions that filled me with energy. It was the little things that naturally became part of my days. More time outside. Fresh, simple meals. Morning movement. Long conversations. Laughter. Moments of stillness. None of those required a vacation. They simply required permission. So I'd like to leave you with a few questions to reflect on. What moments made you feel most alive this summer? What habits left you feeling energized instead of depleted? What brought you peace? And perhaps the most important question of all... What do you want to carry with you into the months ahead? Maybe it's slower mornings. Maybe it's more walks in nature. Maybe it's gathering with friends more often. Maybe it's letting go of expectations that no longer serve you. Summer may be coming to an end, but the feelings it awakened don't have to. Every day offers us another opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and choose what truly matters. After all, living vibrantly isn't reserved for one season. It's a way of living. |

Amaury, Myself and Rob at KSC :-) When did he get taller than me? Hello My Fellow Sage! As I write this, my grandson, Amaury, is sleeping. He's 14—almost 15. They grow up ridiculously fast. He leaves tonight at 7:00, and already I can feel a little sadness creeping in. I love having him here. I love our conversations, our time together, and simply knowing he's in the house. Of course I'm going to miss him. But this morning, as I thought about our last day together, I noticed something. I...

Hola! I'm back home, and it feels wonderful. Mexico was beautiful—the warmth, the ocean, the scenery. As always, I returned feeling grateful. But I also came home with something unexpected: I was carrying more stress than I realized. That surprised me. After all, I was in Mexico. I was teaching yoga, walking by the ocean, meeting wonderful people, and doing work I love. Yet my Oura Ring told a different story. What I realized is that stress isn't always a sign that something is wrong. Even...
